Since I started creating cipher wheels I’ve used several methods to add the lettering and symbols. First was simply ink which worked but was time consuming. Then I tried wood burning which looked good but was still a lengthy process. After that I moved up to CNC and that opened up more options plus sped up the process. CNC manufacturing still had issues, I could only engrave letters or symbols so small before the wood broke.

And then affordable (well, somewhat) desktop lasers hit the market. I knew I wanted one and since I love cipher wheels I was going to have to make a bunch. The laser lets me engrave much smaller and clearer characters. It is relatively quick yet still leaves me with the satisfying steps of adding the walnut edging, fitting and finishing so that I always have some fully hand made parts of my products. I hope you love the new patterns I can create now.

Constellations

These wheels have an inner ring with 30 constellation symbols inspired by the Stargate TV series. I hand drawn before engraving. These are a very unique look and great for anyone interested in science fiction or astronomy.

Moon Glyphs

For the fans of magic, the occult or witchcraft I have this set with the moon symbols used by practitioner. I had to hand draw these symbols prior to engraving. There are only 27 glyphs so I added three extra that match the style which I call Past :)), Present ):) and Future )):

Runic

Channel you inner Viking and create the toughest codes possible. These wheels feature runes in the Futhark style. Since there aren’t 30 runes I added several more rune-like symbols to round out the wheel.

Greek

The beautiful Greek alphabet is featured on these wheels. The letters are all uppercase. Since there aren’t 30 Greek characters I added a few planetary symbols to round out the wheel because I thought they matched the design well.
